Passing on the message

Well hopefully the rest of the project team will now join this community after mentioning it at todays project meeting - they certainly have raised some issues that could be discussed in the forums here, including how FE's manage different relationships - how do they cope with different awards validated by different HE institutions and what support should be in place for those learners? This would have been an interesting one to raise at yesterdays JISC meeting in Birmingham.

A blog? Here?

Yes, why not.

Firstly, anyone who wants to ask me stuff (about JISC things mainly, but I'm an approachable guy so if you need advice with your love-life or whatever, carry on - you fools...) can do so. In fact, if you can, ask here because then everyone can read it.

Secondly, today I am mostly putting things on the JISC CMS. Is it just me or are CMS three of the most depressing letters in modern technology? Some how, the bright, uncluttered punk-rock FTP connection to update your site has turn… Continue

UsPaCe Blog

Like others I've created a feed to the UsPaCe blog from My Page.

If I could find another widget/gadget I'd add a link to my eLearning Ranting Blog as well. Which will have to updated with a Blog about yet another bloody profile to fill out. Maybe.

SURF WBL Project Outputs

It's always the same, you think something is dead easy to do something and then you try and explain it to others and realise that it's the hardest thing to understand. I have been invited by Bruce Stafford to join this group so hello everyone!

Here at Bradford College we are about to embark on an eportfolio hunt! We have collated a list of some that have come to our attention and will hopefully find a way of assessing them.

This is our list so far.

  • ELGG

  • MyStuff

  • Mahara

  • MultiPort

  • Ecordia

  • Soon to be launched Moodle's eportfolio tool

Anyone use any of these?

Mobile gaming, Work based training

Hmm…a bit of a rhyme there! This is fairly old news I guess but something I have only just come across as I’ve only recently started to have look over the fence into the mobile learning garden. I’ve been reading about staff at Hilton Garden Inns in the USA doing work-based training on Sony PSPs. They’ve [...]

Google to deliver “cloud storage” solution?

Spotted a post on Lifehacker today concerning a possible future service from Google. A reader has spotted an option in the recently released Picasa for Mac beta to “move photo to Google Web Drive”. Mmmm…interesting. Now I’ve already taken advantage of my Gmail space, using that as an online storage container - those interested in doing the [...]
